The Fear (of Islam) Party
The outrages carried out on the Qur’an by some American soldiers at Guantanamo prison demonstrate that the hatred of the Muslim culture has taken root much more than one thinks. For many “illustrious polemicists” in our house, Islam is incompatible with civilization and democracy.
In the end, the really sad truth has come out. At Guantanamo prison, Americans soldiers have ravaged the Qur’an, thinking, with this, to fulfill their duty to the utmost regarding the Muslim prisoners accused of terrorism. An atrocity that cannot in any way be justified, neither political nor psychological. The soldiers consciously agitated them, well knowing what they were doing and what emotions they would provoke in the eyes of the Muslims with whom they were dealing.
